３/１５、仕事で小牧のお客様を訪問したおり、活動的で気の利いた奥様が、いい物を見せてあげましょうと言われて、連れて行ってもらった所が田縣神社でした。ご主人と私を神社近くまで車で送迎までして頂いたお陰で、たっぷり見物できました。
こんなに多くの見物客がニコニコしているお祭りは初めてでした。
寝て食べて子宝に恵まれることは昔から万国共通の願い事なのでしょう。外国からの見物客の多さにも驚きました。
次は玉姫も見たいものです。

Tagata Jinja is Shinto shrine, located in Tagata-cho, Komaki city, Aichi Prefecture.
It is dedicated to a god named "Mitoshino-Kami" and a goddess named "Tamahime-no-Mikoto".
This dedication originated from an ancient Japanese belief that for the growth and development of all things, the mother, earth, has to be impregnated by the father, heaven.
The Bumper harvest Festival of Tagata Jinja is well known to everyone as a unique festival.
It is held on March 15 every year.
At the Bumper Harvest Festival, villagers carry on their shoulders a mikoshi(portable shrine) which besars an owasegata(penis), 60cm(24") across and 2m(80") long, made of hinoki(Japanese cypress).
They offer this huge penis to Tagata Jinja, praying for world peace, the growth of all things, and a bumper crop.
This Bumper Harvest Festival has drawn a large number of visitors-over 100,000 every year-not only from all parts of japan, but also from various countries of the world.
